Overview:
With the terraforming of Luna in TE 92, the Imperial Navy moved its primary base from Farside to Hafen.
Hafen was an ideal choice for a Navy base. Its system contains a dense asteroid belt rich in metals, and four gas giants rich in hydrogen and methane. The planet itself is virtually airless and has a low gravity. It was less than a kiloparsec from Terra. In time, Naval Administration facilities spread out over the planet's surface, while shipyards for construction and repair proliferated throughout the system.
The Hafen system was under extreme security throughout the
Empire. Hafen was considered one of the best-defended planets
in the Galaxy.
