An elite corps of the Imperial Navy whose duty was to protect Terra. After the Formation Wars, when the Empire was secure, the Home Guard became an honorary force, composed of retired officers and disbaled heroes.
During the Sack of Terra, the Home Guard were destroyed to the last member. Subsequently, a new Home Guard sprang up, one composed of Terran patriots and much more effective than the old one.
