Greg never showd promise of being one of the more successful Hoisters. He had his early education under Brynhilde, and later attended Harvard (Terran campus) where he took a Master's degree in philosophy. But his education lacked a drive and direction that some of his cousins displayed.
Eventually, Greg became the archetypal decadent artisocrat. He travelled widely, often tripping to odd planets for hunting expeditions or in search of a rare, elusive bottle of Euphrates pinot blanc 2097.
Greg accepted a sort of retirement on Mars with the rest of the Family when the Eighth Generation was born. He filled his New Athens suite with bizarre art objects and a conglomeration of odd trinkets.
